Harry’s Boots, founded in 1939, is a Boot and Western Wear store in historic San Saba, Texas. Living Proof Creative was aligned with Harry’s Boots to navigate their vast and complex inventory system; Develop a custom API Integration; and Design an entirely new eCommerce site. Their new Magento site launched in October of 2016 and is a sterling example of sleek interface design and usability. Living Proof Creative continues to assist with Digital Marketing and content management- keeping this historic brand relevant today and far into the future.

User Experience

Harry’s Boots is an old, established Texas brand, and its consumers are oftentimes traditional folk. Living Proof Creative wanted the user experience to cater to Harry’s Boot’s typical patron and reflect the store’s commitment to tradition, quality, and authenticity. The website’s functionality is straightforward with a vast array of products at the click of a button. It’s so easy any cowboy could do it.

Interface Design

The design process began the moment Living Proof Creative stepped into the original Harry’s Boots store in historic San Saba, TX. Its identity was built right into walls; into the worn brick and reclaimed wood floors. The Living Proof Creative design team was able to experience Harry’s Boots first-hand and become inspired by its location and history. After the visit, Living Proof Creative was able to create a solid, unique design direction inspired by the store itself. The interface modernizes Harry’s old-school Texas charm while retaining its historical heritage.

eCommerce

With over four-thousand products for sale, building Harry’s Boots eCommerce site was no small task. So, Living Proof Creative designed custom categories to help organize the inventory and allow for frequent changes and additions. The Living Proof Creative developers masterfully utilized the feature-rich Magento open source platform to tailor the eCommerce site to Harry’s specific merchandising strategy. Magento provides the client with unprecedented flexibility and control over the look, content and functionality of their eCommerce store. Now, Harry’s massive catalogue has been transformed into a simple, efficient and beautiful online shopping experience.

RICS POS API Integration

Before Living Proof Creative came to the rescue, Harry’s Boot point of sales system was completely out of sync with its online inventory, causing all kinds of disparities. Living Proof Creative worked with RICs point of sale system to create a custom API to sync in-store and online inventory. This has harmonized and brought order to Harry’s Boots overall sales.

Content Management

The Harry’s Boots website constantly features new items and its inventory changes based on trends and time of year. Living Proof Creative put a system in place for continued content updates so that Harry’s Boots has total control on the backend. A blog was also set up, including the installation of Publizer for ease of distribution across social media channels.

Mobile Responsive

Online transactions are occurring on mobile devices more and more so it was imperative that the Harry’s Boots website not only be mobile responsive, but fast and conversion friendly.
